The chicken box?

I had Harold's twice on a recent weekend -- once on Thursday night and then again on Saturday night. Thursday night my chicken came in the bag I've been familiar with all along, but Saturday night it came in this box.

Since when has Harold's been using boxes?

Personally, I get my Harold's with hot and mild sauce (extra hot on the side), and for some reason I kept dropping my chicken that night and had to dig it back out of the box.

Are they using chicken boxes at your favorite Harold's?

They have been using those at least in the past couple months or so at my #14.

Thank you so much man for your blog man. I use it all the time to find harold's chicken close to me. I have a problem. I live in Elgin, Illinois and am about an hour from chicago. What's the closest shack next to me?

Alain --

Not a lot of Harolds' out near Elgin, as I know you've found. These seem to me to be the closest:

Aurora, IL

Oak Park, IL

Maybe the one in Oak Park is on your way home from Chicago, or at least not far off.

As a former owner of number 39, at one time located in Evanston, we tried boxes for awhile, but the chicken was not the same. There is something that happens when the chicken, fries, and bread are steamed under foil in a bag. I always thought the chicken was better after you got it home, than eaten right away. Also, you can't put all the locations on the box.
